Why should you eat organic foods?
What Should I Buy Organic?
That's a question I ask myself all the time while at the grocery store. It's hard to know whether I should spend the extra money to get organic fruits and veggies or if I'm better off saving my cash. Luckily, the Environmental Working Group just released their latest report on the amount of pesticides in produce and makes it pretty clear.
The worst offenders—the "dirty dozen"— contain 47 to 67 pesticides per serving (most likely due to their soft skin leaving them vulnerable) and should be bought in organic form whenever possible. Here they are:
* Celery * Peaches
* Domestic blueberries
* Sweet bell peppers
* Spinach, kale and collard greens
* Imported grapes
But, here's some good news.
